Frictionless C-UAS: JIATF 401 Marketplace

Until recently, counter drone detection and mitigation technology was very niche with a limited range of commercial solutions. Within the military, most approaches to C-UAS were actually adaptations of anti-aircraft technology. As a result, accessing and implementing this technology has been a challenge for public safety, homeland security, commercial security, and military guardians now tasked with drone protection as part of their mission-set.

In recognition of the urgent need for low-cost drone detection and mitigation the Joint Inter-agency Task Force for C-UAS (JIATF 401) led by the U.S. Army created an online marketplace for detection and mitigation technology providers and buyers to expedite counter drone solution acquisition.

MatrixSpace Now Available on CUAS.mil

The new United States cuas.mil website catalogs technologies qualified by the Army across a wide range of criteria, including repeated performance in the field. Buyers include all U.S. military branches, allied partner nation military, Federal agencies, and state/local/tribal (SLTT) law enforcement agencies. MatrixSpace was selected by the Army as a pathfinder partner for inclusion early in the marketplace program’s development. All MatrixSpace products are available for purchase and fulfillment via the marketplace, including international export. (MatrixSpace radar products are not ITAR controlled.)

For SLTT agencies, the C-UAS Marketplace is a compelling option for technology assessment and acquisition. Now empowered by the SAFER SKIES Act, local law enforcement often lacks the depth of experience needed to effectively evaluate and procure C-UAS technology. The C-UAS marketplace levels the playing ground to provide these agencies with a trusted, validated source of standardized solutions that cuts through marketing claims.

Accelerating 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games Security

The 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games will present unique public safety challenges for local law enforcement. While the Games themselves will be held in the great Los Angeles region, the Torch Relay will route through all 50 states. While traditional physical security measures will be elevated, local law enforcement will also be expected to secure the low airspace domain in concert with federal partners. Following its support for local C-UAS security at World Cup match locations and the America 250 event, DHS has provided a 2nd tranche of funding to support low airspace security for the 2028 Olympic events.

If you’re a SLTT agency looking to secure funding available through the DHS FEMA Fiscal Year 2027 Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Grant Program, you can use the C-UAS Marketplace to quote MatrixSpace detection/track/identify products to complete your state’s sub-award application. Products like our multi-sensor Fusion 360 system are purpose-built for easy user adoption, multi-agency collaboration, and rapid deployment. We can also help you with other aspects of your application—see our grant help center for more information.

Safe and Secure Places Everywhere

It’s our mission. But Everywhere can’t happen if solutions are too expensive, difficult to use, or difficult to buy. We build the world’s most high-performance, usable, and affordable radar sensing solutions. And we’re proud to partner with JIAFT 401 to simplify access for the guardians who make our society safer and more secure.

Drone Data Under the SAFER SKIES Rule: An Industry View on Privacy and Compliance

The rule gives SLTT agencies real counter-UAS authority for the first time. It also places data squarely at the center of that authority. For technology providers building the systems agencies will actually use, that data architecture is where compliance either works in practice or breaks down.

Observations from Project Flytrap 5.0

MatrixSpace demonstrated portable, resilient counter-drone capabilities at the U.S. Army’s Flytrap 5.0 exercise, integrating mobile radar and AI systems with Anduril’s battle command network. The deployment validated effective small-drone detection, operation in contested environments, rapid dismounted deployment, and interoperability through open architectures for modern battlefield airspace awareness.
