Quality Assurance Product Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Product Engineer to work with our R&D, Manufacturing, Operations, and Field Teams to deliver unique portable radar systems for safety and security purposes. The role is part of a growing, innovative product development team.
Responsibilities:
• Support/drive development efforts of sub-circuit, board, and module level verification test and production test for RF products and systems.
• Support/drive product level environmental and regulatory tests for RF products and systems.
• Work closely with hardware and software teams to transition designs into production, including documentation and process optimization.
• Create, document and conduct comprehensive testing on hardware components and systems to ensure compliance with performance and reliability
• Product Technical documentation, evaluation kit (EVK) bill of materials, user’s guides (in cooperation with R&D and Sales teams), and all materials to ensure a positive customer “out of box” experience.
• Optimize system configurations for customer applications, including final software programming of product before customer shipment.
• MOL activities including support of field investigations, driving root cause analysis of product customer returns, and recommending current and future product
improvements.
• Support root cause efforts for manufacturing yield impacts and ongoing defects.
• Support prototype and production builds and associated internal and customer deliveries.
• Participate in team reviews of hardware design, hardware/software/firmware partitioning, and implementations with citing potential quality concerns, risks, or issues.
• Define and implement Quality and Reliability aspects for current and future products, including ALT, HALT, and other related tests.
• Drive ISO9001 and related Quality Certification for MatrixSpace’s Hoffman Estates and Burlington offices.
• Drive Quality Assurance processes at both internal and contract manufacturing facilities to ensure products delivered meet stringent assembly and test product requirements.
Skills:
• Working knowledge of RF Systems at a minimum; strong RF system knowledge preferred.
• Experienced in drawing conclusions from statistics and interpolation; capable of driving root cause analysis and action plans
• Experience in establishing/supporting a scalable product manufacturing & test environment.
• Demonstrated hardware debugging skills using bench equipment (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, DC power, etc.).
• Experience with product level environmental and regulatory tests including thermal shock, over temperature tests with and without humidity, vibration (product and shipping), drop, salt fog, ESD, water/dust ingress, and thermal measurements per applicable standards.
• Some software experience including C, Python, LabVIEW, and Matlab.
• Demonstrated success in technical problem-solving skills, and leadership of solving these systemically across an organization.
• Strong written & verbal communications skills, good interpersonal skills
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience
• This position requires working directly or indirectly with the US Government in restricted environments. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (Green Card holder)
• Domestic and/or International Travel – 10%
