Field Test Engineering Technician

We are seeking a Field Test Engineering Technician to join our growing and innovative product development team. This role operates in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with an R&D team known for delivering unique, differentiated RF systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Field testing and verification of radar systems, other sensors, and associated algorithms using drones and aircraft as well as ground targets.

• Analyze flight and test data, summarizing performance results and key findings.

• Collaborate with development engineers and management to improve and optimize radar performance.

• Document test procedures, results, and analyses thoroughly and accurately.

• Assist with investigations and root-cause analysis of customer returns, rework activities, and recommendations for future product improvements.

• Contribute to the development of lab-based testing, measurement, and performance analysis methods that replicate field conditions.

• Support environmental testing related to field performance requirements, as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to carefully create and execute complex multi-variable tests.

• Basic understanding of radio systems and RF product operation.

• Proven hardware debugging skills using standard bench equipment (DMM, power supply, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer).

• Strong problem-solving abilities with solid analytical skills.

• Familiarity with software tools, scripts, and user interfaces.

• Experience in small-scale through large, scalable manufacturing and test environments is a plus.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective interpersonal abilities.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering Technology certification or degree (or equivalent) required.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

• This is an on-site position at our Hoffman Estates, Illinois facility.

• This position involves working directly or indirectly with the U.S. Government in restricted environments. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders).
